Ingredients
- 2 lbs Beef 900 g beef stew meat, cut into chunks
- 1½ tsp Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp Cooking oil
- 2 inch Ginger sliced
- 4 Garlic cloves chopped
- 2 Bay leaves
- 2 Red chilies dried
- 1 Star anise
- 2 Green onion stalk
- ½ tsp Red chili powder
- ½ tsp Turmeric powder
- 210 g Onion chunks
- 360 g Tomatoes chunks
- 3 tbsp Soy sauce
- 3 tbsp Oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- ½ tsp Black pepper
- ½ cup Water
- 450 g Baby potatoes chunks
- 210 g Carrots chunks
Instructions
Cook the Garlic, Ginger,
- Turn on the Instant Pot, select Saute mode at More. Add oil, garlic, ginger and cook for 2 minutes. Add bay leaves, dried red chilies, star anise, and green onion and fry for 2 more minutes until fragrant.
Add the Beef
- Add the beef chunks. Cook for 7–8 minutes.
Add the Spices, Onion, Tomatoes, Sauces, sugar, pepper, and water
- Add chili powder and turmeric powder and cook for 2 minutes until beef changes its color.Add onion and tomatoes and cook for 2 more minutes.Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, pepper, and waterMix well, and level the meat for even cooking.
Pressure Cook 1
- Pressure cook on High Time: 30 minutes Quick release the pressure
Add Potatoes, Carrots, and Salt
- Add the diced potatoes, carrots, and salt,Mix well and level the surface for even cooking.
Pressure Cook 2
- Pressure cook on HighTime: 10 minutesRelease the pressure Naturally for 10 minutes then allow to release any remaining pressure manually.
Garnish and Serve
- Sprinkle freshly chopped green onion and serve hot with steamed rice, crusty bread, dinner rolls, or mashed potatoes.
