Ingredients
  

For the Beef Rolls

  • 2 lbs 1 kg thinly sliced beef
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala

For the Filling

  • 7 oz 210 g cream cheese, softened
  • 1 oz 30 g green chili, finely chopped
  • 1/2 oz 15 g fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1 oz 30 g walnuts, chopped
  • 1 oz 30 g peanuts, chopped
  • 1 oz 30 g almonds, chopped
  • 1 oz 30 g dried cranberries, chopped

For Baking

  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil

For the Tomato Sauce

  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 2 oz 60 g onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 3 cups passata
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder

Garnish

  • Fresh cilantro chopped

Instructions
 

Prepare the Beef Rolls

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Season the beef slices with salt, red chili flakes, black pepper, and garam masala.
  • In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, green chili, and cilantro. Mix until well combined.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over each slice of beef.
  • Sprinkle walnuts, peanuts, almonds, and cranberries over each slice.
  • Roll each beef slice tightly and secure if needed.
  • Place the rolls in a lightly greased baking dish and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Bake for 20 minutes.

Prepare the Tomato Sauce

  • Heat the ghee in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant and softened.
  • Stir in the passata and lemon juice.
  • Add the salt, black pepper, and chili powder. Mix well and bring to a gentle simmer.

Finish the Dish

  • Add the baked beef rolls to the tomato sauce.
  • Cook for 2 minutes.
  • Gently turn the rolls and cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh cilantro.

Notes

Secure the rolls with toothpicks if they begin to unroll during baking.
For extra richness, use full-fat cream cheese.
The combination of nuts and cranberries adds a delicious balance of crunch and sweetness.
